Sophie Bear goes to see Pooh ...

Sophie Bear wanted to go out for the day somewhere special. Mrs Keen looked on the internet and found somewhere that Sophie would like.

They drove for a long time in Mrs Keen's car.

When they arrived she parked and they started to walk down a path into the woods. "Where are we going?" asked Sophie.

Sophie saw a signpost. She was trying to read what it said ... "P ... O... O ... H, that spells Pooh. Are we going to see Pooh Bear?" she asked after sounding out the word.

"Yes," said Mrs Keen, "this is the area where the Pooh Bear stories were written. We are going to see some of the places in the stories!"

"Cool", said Sophie.

This is Roos Sandy Pit. Sophie looked down, "I can't see Roo". "Perhaps he is at home with Kanga." replied Mrs Keen.

They kept walking and arrived at a very special place - the Poohsticks bridge!

Sophie leaned over the side and looked at the river. "Come on" she shouted to Mrs Keen who was finding a stick. Sophie was carrying a stick between her paws and when Mrs Keen shouted "GO" they both dropped them over the side.

Sophie quickly ran to the other side and leaned over. Eventually she saw the two sticks floating out - "Come on my stick" she shouted.

Sophie's stick was slightly ahead. "I WON!" shouted Sophie, "I get the chocolate because I won."

"I'm not sure about that." said Mrs Keen - greedy bear!

Parent's Note

Sophie visited Pooh Country courtesy of directions provided by the Pooh Country website.

The enchanted places are a few minutes drive from the shop but you do need to be prepared to walk. Just call into the shop and once you've had a look around their great range of Pooh goodies they have a free map you can take.
