Sophie Bear went to a place called Bruges some time ago.
While there she met Gerald. Last
year Gerald took Little Bear back to Bruges. This year, Little
Bear decided to show Steve so he stowed away in Mrs Keen's
luggage and off they went.
| Just like Gerald, they travelled on a big yellow train
called the Eurostar. It goes through a tunnel under the
sea! |
 |
 |
They arrived and Steve checked out
the hotel room. They were staying right in the centre
of town again so had some great views.
|
 |
| Then it was time for lunch. They found a cafe in the
market square and sat down. Little Bear had 'Croque Monseur'
- "that means ham and cheese toasted sandwich",
said Steve! Little Bear was impressed, he doesn't speak
any other languages - do you? |
 |
 |
Then it was time for a rest so they went back to the
hotel. Steve just hung about for a bit... |
 |
They decided to go on a boat trip around the town. They
saw lots of old buildings at the sides of the canal. They
went under lots of bridges. Lots of people standing on
top of the bridges waved to them. They waved back! |
 |
 |
Steve hung himself out of the boat looking at the water
rushing past. "Come back in," shouted Little
Bear, "you might fall out!". |
| In the evening they sat in the room to relax. Little
Bear had a bottle of coke, Steve had a special beer and
then they both had crisps. I hope they don't fill themselves
up - they won't want dinner and then Mrs Keen will be
angry! |
  |

 |
The next day they walked down through the town to a
park. It was very hot so Steve decided to have an ice
cream. They looked for some in all the shops as they
walked but couldn't find any. When they got to the park
there was a man, with a horse, selling ice cream. Little
Bear enjoyed his lots!
What is your favourite ice cream flavour?
|
Finally they left to go back home on the train again. They
had a great time - have you been away anywhere nice during
your school holidays?
Sophie Bear is very jealous of Little Bear but she was too
big to fit in the suitcase - naughty Sophie, that's because
you eat too many sweeties!
